ORLANDO, Fla. — Tropical development remains likely for the remnants of Agatha.

The leftovers of the storms are hanging over the Yucatan Peninsula.

Meteorologist Brian Shields said that the storm is likely to develop as it moves toward western Cuba in the next two days.

The storm will move to South Florida on Friday night and Saturday.

How close it will get is still up in the air.

We could have a decent Saturday, with heavy rain in South Florida, or have a weak tropical storm slide in.

It’s hard to tell because the storm has not redeveloped.

Shields said he is keeping an elevated chance of rain and storms for Saturday and will continue to monitor the storm.

If the storm develops, it will be named Alex, which is the first name on the Atlantic hurricane list.
