Two mothers get in fist fight on Osceola elementary school bus, over toy

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a fight between two moms on a Mill Creek Elementary School bus.

The two were seen throwing punches and tussling over children as they were being dropped off Thursday outside the Heritage Park Apartment complex in Kissimmee.

An incident report from deputies said the fight started over two children arguing on the bus over a toy.

Both mothers took it upon themselves to get on the bus and insert themselves into the argument, eventually escalating it into a fight.

“Wow, the parents actually got inside the bus to actually fight in front of the children,” said one parent, Elizabeth Ortega.

A video that has gone viral on social media shows the kids running to the back of the bus and screaming for the two adults to stop.

“I’m just in shock that it was in front of kids. And the kids, screaming. Sad,” said Osceola County resident Lumarryn Sanchez.

Residents inside the complex said the fight and screams from the children lasted about 15 minutes as school bus employees tried to stop the parents from fighting.

The district told Eyewitness News the parents were not invited on the bus by the driver and violated policy.

“We want to remind all parents that the safety and security of our students while they are at school and on the school bus is our top priority. To maintain a safe and orderly environment for everyone, it is essential that we all understand the importance of respecting the boundaries of our school buses and recognizing that they are the property of the school district.

Unauthorized entry onto a school bus can pose various risks, including interference with the bus driver’s duties, disruption to other students, and potential safety hazards. School buses are considered School Board property, and entering the bus without the consent of the driver is a violation of School Board policy. Law enforcement will be called, and the person doing so will be subject to trespass and prosecution.

If parents need to communicate with the driver or address any concerns related to the school bus, they should contact their school’s administration or the Transportation Department.

The report said they did find probable cause to arrest both parents, but deputies have yet to confirm if they were arrested and charged.
