ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Aviation and Aerospace Magnet Program students will speak live with astronaut Sunita Williams aboard the International Space Station.

The Aviation & Aerospace Magnet Program at Sally Ride Elementary School aims to enrich students’ growth by providing opportunities to solve real-world STEM problems in Aviation & Aerospace.

Astronaut Sunita Williams, who is currently aboard the International Space Station, will take the time to converse and educate the youth.
This unique event will allow students to ask questions and communicate directly with an astronaut in orbit using amateur radio technology.

Williams is a NASA veteran, the second woman to serve as Commander of the International Space Station, and the woman’s record holder for the most spacewalk time.
She has been aboard the ISS since June and is expected to return to Earth in February 2025 aboard the SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule.
