Orlando fire chief resigns The chief of the Orlando Fire Department is stepping down.

ORLANDO, Fla. — The chief of the Orlando Fire Department is stepping down.

In his resignation letter, Chief Charlie Salazar says his last day will be Nov. 3.

Salazar says he’s leaving for personal reasons and will return to Texas.

His departure follows the Orlando Fire Department‘s loss of its accreditation.
