A low-pressure area may form off the Georgia and Carolina coast later this week, potentially steering north and away from Florida.Â
As the local area experiences a wetter rain pattern this week, the tropics remain active with Storm Dexter moving away in the north Atlantic and another area potentially threatening the Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina coast by late this week.

A tropical wave in the central Atlantic is being monitored for additional development over the next several days as it moves generally toward the WNW and the far eastern Caribbean.Â

Central Florida will experience a drier pattern this weekend due to slightly lower moisture levels in the atmosphere, resulting in fewer afternoon downpours.
A large area of dry, dusty air is currently overhead, bringing us hazy sunshine mixed with clouds this afternoon.
A Weather Alert Day is planned for Monday as a combo of heavy and possibly severe storms and heavy rain are in the forecast.
All of central Florida has a risk for strong to severe storms, with the greatest risk in northern areas.
Our next storm system is developing over the Deep South and will move into our area by Wednesday afternoon.
If you have outdoor plans this weekend, we can expect some nice and warm weather, although be prepared for windy and rainy conditions on Sunday.
Warm weather is expected to continue through today and into the next couple of days, with temperatures reaching the mid to upper 80s across Central Florida.
Tonight marks the coldest night of the winter season so far, with temperatures expected to drop into the 30s across much of central Florida
